Welcome to Skyland Park Lot Owners Association

Jim Sherman, who served as Vice President and also as our contractor for the road, has relocated out of state with his wife Linda. We will miss him, and all that he did for our Association.
The Board of Directors met on January 14, 2025 and voted to replace the Board vacancy. Our new Board member is Paul Desrochers. He will also serve as a Vice President. Under our Bylaws, the Board can appoint a vacant Board member position. At our annual residents' meeting, the SPLOA membership will vote on the permanent Board position for Paul.
Paul retired in 2023 from Vertex Pharmaceuticals, a highly regarded drug company that is known especially for their drugs that treat cystic fibrosis. Paul obtained his doctorate in Physiology. He and his wife Denise purchased their home in Skyland Park in 2021, and relocated here full-time in 2024. They are among many of our residents who enjoy a canoe or kayak ride on our lovely Berry Pond. In addition to serving on our Board, Paul also volunteers for Interlakes Community Caregivers and the Food Pantry.
Regarding the road contract position, the Board of Directors approved the hiring of White Birch Property Management from Tamworth.
Also at our Board of Directors meeting, we approved Board Member Tom Duessen as Road Agent. We will send out a notice later about the date of our annual meeting/community picnic which will be held in August. If you have any questions in the meantime for any of our officers, please use the Contact Us option on our website.
Our bylaws were updated at the August 24, 2024 Annual Meeting. You can view the updated bylaws along with the minutes of the Annual meeting. Our next meeting will be scheduled in the spring. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please contact us.
An email was sent to SPLOA membership to clarify certain matters regarding the property of the Moultonborough Airport and the taxiway easement located on the northeastern side of the Airport runway. Known as the Taxiing Strip, this easement was created in 1978 by deed to permit aviators within the SPLOA community to access the Airport runway for takeoff and landing. It is important to remember that the Taxiing Strip is on land belonging to the Airport, and it exists for the sole purpose of allowing our member aviators to pilot to and from the runway.
Therefore, it is of importance that all our members understand that the Taxiing Strip is not available to any of us for use beyond driving planes to and from the Airport. The Taxing Strip is NOT a road nor a driveway, nor a walking or jogging path, nor is the Taxiing Strip an access point for Summit Drive lot owners abutting it to use in getting to the back portions of their lots. Lot owners abutting the Taxiing Strip must go through their own property only to gain such access.
Please stay off Airport property entirely, including the Taxiing Strip, unless you are piloting an airplane to or from the Airport.
Please also be aware that the SPLOA Association has a Parking and Tie Down Area which is located on the northern end of Summit Drive. Please be reminded that It is not to be used for any activities such as operating an ATV, snowmobiling, driving a car etc. If a resident or non-resident violates this, further enforcement action steps will be conducted as described in the Covenants..
A private website for our residents for the purpose of owner information and communication.
Skyland Park is located in the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire and adjacent to the Moultonborough Airport. There are 37 privately owned homes and several common areas including a grassy triangle, a wooded section, and a tie-down area for residents’ planes. The roads are privately maintained by the Association. Snow is plowed by the Town of Moultonborough. SPLOA is governed by a set of Covenants. A Board of Directors operates via By-Laws that are established and may be amended by Lot Owners at the Annual Meetings.
